What is COG LCD ?
This is an LCD technology where the controller chip used to drive the LCD is mounted directly onto the LCD glass.
Mounting the controller directly onto the LCD glass allows the module to be built without the need for a PCB. The three main components of a chip on glass is the glass, the controller driver chip, and the cable.
As a general rule the cost of a COG is less than that of a COB. Without being mounted to a circuit board, COG displays do not come equipped with mounting holes. Instead the COG display is mounted to the chassis if the manufacturer's product uses double-sided tape.

The HTN/STN COG LCD display is a liquid crystal display module that adopts the COG (Chip on Glass) manufacturing process. The 1/64 duty cycle driving method means it can achieve high-definition image display with lower power consumption. Here is an introduction about it:
Product Introduction
Process Features: It uses the COG process to directly integrate the driving chip onto the glass substrate, eliminating the need for bulky PCB boards and connection structures, achieving a thin and compact design, saving internal space, and providing greater freedom for equipment design.
Liquid Crystal Type: Both HTN (High Twisted Nematic) and STN (Super Twisted Nematic) belong to the TN technology variants. HTN slightly improves the contrast and viewing angle on the basis of TN, suitable for displaying numbers and a few letters; STN has better contrast and viewing angle through a larger twisting angle and compensation film design, suitable for displaying small text, graphic lines, and Chinese menus, etc.
Driving Method: 1/64 duty cycle driving method, combined with a suitable driving chip, such as ST7565R, ST7567, etc., can achieve high-definition image display with lower power consumption, suitable for devices with high power consumption requirements.
Display Mode: It is a positive display, where the display content is dark and the background is light, such as dark gray text on a yellow-green background, or white text on a black background. This display mode conforms to the reading habits of most people and has a more comfortable visual effect.
Size Specifications: Small size usually refers to the diagonal size of less than several inches. Common sizes include 2.8 inches, 1.3 inches, etc. The external dimensions are generally around several tens of millimeters, and the pixel resolution is mostly 128x64, etc.
